DAY OF THE METALWORKER

Today 09/07 is Metallurgical Day in Argentina.

But why is it celebrated? A bit of anniversaries of our field... On September 7, 1784, Fray Luis Beltrán was born in Mendoza, in his honor, the "Day of the Metallurgical Worker" is celebrated. Fray Luis Beltrán was the first to give a leading role to the mineral wealth of the country with knowledge of chemistry, mathematics and mechanics to serve in favor of independence, as a manufacturer and organizer of the artillery of the Army of the Andes led by San Martín.
This date acquires particular relevance in our region, where there are thousands of men and women who work in this sector.
